Why travel out of the region when you can get quality, nationally recognised first aid training in Fort William or at your own venue? Training you can book online, from a range of convenient dates and choose the most suitable payment, such as PayPal or invoice.
Our main trainer, Simon Wells, has delivered First Aid courses for over 12 years to thousands of people. As a qualified teacher, lecturer and outdoor education expert Simon is fascinated by the ‘see it, do it, learn it’ approach to training first aiders.
Lots of practical sessions are a key feature of our courses. Being able to practise first aid skills in a relaxed manner with lots of feedback helps to create confident first aiders. Despite knowing all the long words about educational theory Simon is convinced that a good course has clear demonstrations, lots of practice and feedback, as well as decent coffee, tea and biscuits.
Simon has also been involved in training and assessing outdoor instructors for Mountain Training and the British Canoeing, as well as lecturing on Adventure Sports degree courses.
As well as being an active climber Simon is a skier, mountaineer, sea kayaker and white water canoeist, skills he uses in leading groups and when introducing his young family to adventures in the Highlands.
We do have other instructors join our team, who share the same approach to training and the same high level of qualifications.
Administration is done by Belinda, who has worked in senior admin management roles for Siemens and in education. Lesley looks after the website and IT side of the business.
All our courses are quality assured through ITC First and most are accredited through the Scottish Qualification Authority – all meet the ‘due diligence’ criteria needed for employers.
Highland First Aid Ltd is a registered Limited company SC592363. Set up with the aim of making sure no one has to leave Fort William and the surrounding area to access regular high quality first aid training.
