You don't expect to do real first aid on a training course?
That is exactly what happened to member of the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team . According to the BBC Scotland they were on a First Aid refresher course when they were asked to assist a quad biker who had broken their leg.
Over the years Highland First has trained a number of members of Mountain Rescue teams from all over UK and the Lochaber team.
Health & Safety Executive recommend that ALL first aiders carry out at least 3 hours of refresher training every year. Highland First Aid can help with this, on all our courses we also talk about realistic, low cost alternatives you can do ‘in house’ .
As an active climber and mountaineer I am extremely grateful for the huge amount of energy and time the UK’s Mountain Rescue teams give. It has been a real pleasure to regularly have them on our 2 day Outdoor Courses, these outdoor courses are run in partnership with Outward Bound Loch Eil, Fort William.
